🕊️ Pope Francis (1936-2025)

Hours before his death, Pope Francis — “the Pope of the peripheries” — gave a final Easter address which included these words:

“I think of the people of Gaza, and its Christian community in particular, where the terrible conflict continues to cause death and destruction and to create a dramatic and deplorable humanitarian situation. I appeal to the warring parties: call a ceasefire, release the hostages and come to the aid of a starving people that aspires to a future of peace!“

May Pope Francis rest in eternal peace. And may Palestine be free.

P.S. I know the video I’m sharing is not from his final speech. But this speech is also a very powerful call for peace and ceasefire and I felt it was worth sharing now.
